Kenneth Leon Hanks, age 82, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Kenneth was born May 8, 1940 to parents Irvy Hanks and Vineace Kinney in Morse, LA. He was a graduate of Midland High School in 1959 and attended Highline College in Washington state. Kenneth played football in high school and was voted most talented. He enlisted in the Army on June 19th, 1959 where he traveled to California to Travis Air force base. He was part of the 1st Missile Batalion, 61st Artillery, while stationed at Travis Air force Base. While enlisted, he was a pitcher for the Army League fast pitch softball. He had many military accomplishments including a medal for Good Conduct Expert Missleman.
Kenneth was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a lay minister and lector at St. Theodore's Church. He was a very godly man and loved his Savior. He had many hobbies including gardening, cooking (specifically chocolate candy), and was very gifted musically. He could hear a tune by ear and pick up his trusty harmonica and play it back. He also played the guitar. He was a voracious reader. He was a very loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is greeted in Heaven by his parents, wife; Betty Hanks, brother; Irvin John Hanks and infant sister Louanna Hanks.
Those left to cherish his memory are; Brothers; Arnold Hanks, Dalton Hanks, sisters; Emmalene Hanks Stutes and Janice Hanks Leger. Sons; Kevin Hanks, Kylan Hanks, Luke Hanks, Joel Hanks, daughters; Kristi Hanks Cormier and Sarah Hanks Cormie, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Kenneth will begin on Wednesday June 22, 2022 at 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Hixson Moss Bluff chapel with a Rosary to start at 6:30pm.
Visitation will resume at Hixson Moss Bluff chapel at 8:00am Thursday June 23, 2022 until service time at 10:00am at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff.
Internment will be at Johnson-Hanks Cemetery in Morse, LA. following services.
