Nancy Carol Bickford passed away in Puyallup, WA on December 21st, 2015. Nancy was born to Lester and Frances Panush on July 4th, 1939 in Pe Ell, WA. In 1953, she moved with her family to Mineral, WA. She graduated from Morton High School and married her high school sweetheart, Douglas Jay Bickford on February 21st, 1959. She worked for Morton General Hospital for 37 years in various positions and finally retired as the Hospital Administrative Assistant. Doug and Nancy raised two daughters, Deanna Miller and husband David of Bellingham, WA and Denise Sokol and husband Bob of Puyallup, WA. She has three grandchildren, Julene Walters and husband Kevin of Bellingham, WA; Jeb Miller and wife Natalie of Lynden, WA; Colby Sokol and wife Jennesa of Bonney Lake, WA. She also has three great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Everett Miller and Koen Walters. She has one living sibling, Larry Panush and wife Ann of Port Hadlock, WA. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Frances Panush and brother Bob Panush. Nancy was very active in her church holding a board position and volunteering for numerous tasks. With a joyful and caring heart she did anything from making soup for soup nights, cooking breakfast for morning church services, spending time in the nursery to the monthly cleaning of the church itself. She was a member of the church quilting club and also active in the Mineral Senior Center program. Some of her favorite hobbies included quilting, gardening and traveling with the love of her life and best friend, Doug. She also enjoyed spending time with all her family and baking their favorite cookies. Nancy was a loving wife, a caring mother and grandmother and an amazing friend who touched so many lives with her strength, courage and gentleness. We were all blessed for being a part of her life.
