He attended Morristown Hamblen East High School, was a member of Alpha Baptist Church since 1976, an Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War, and a retiree of Shelby Williams Industries after 29 years of service.
Preceding him in death were his mother: Beulah Williams Cannon, father: Clifford Leonard Cannon, brother: James "Buddy" Cannon, sister: Martha Cannon Dennis, and bonus daughter: Alesia Collins Frazier,
Wayne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Collins Cannon; children: Waynah Cannon Hodge, Jamia Cannon (Ray) Hensley, Hubert Collins, Flora Collins (Albert) Gamble, and Barry Collins. Sisters: Judy Cannon Sharp and Betty Cannon Porterfield. Grandchildren: Dusty Clark, Dallas (Michaela) Shaver, Rachel Shaver, Kaileigh Collins, Jeffery (Katelyn) Frazier, II,Stephanie Frazier, Jade (Tyler) Mackey, Annika Hodge, Kelsey Hensley (Garrison) Taylor. Great grandchildren: Juanita Frazier, Julian Frazier, Raleigh Frazier, Christian Frazier, Jeffery Frazier, III, and Jace Frazier.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home with funeral services at 2:30 PM, Rev. Heath Smith officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
