Born September 16, 1936, in Madison County North Carolina and passed August 14, 2024, in her home in Rogersville TN.
She was a graduate of Waynesville High School in Waynesville North Carolina retired from Champion International Paper Company in Canton NC. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Gideons International until moving to Pensacola Florida.
Wanda is in the Who’s Who of American Women 1997/1998 and Who’s Who in the South and Southwest 1984/1985.
She was preceded by her parents, Zella Miller Brown Hannah and Roy Lee Brown, and husband of 48 years, Charles M Garrison Sr, and James Sutherland. All her brothers and sisters. Paul Hannah, Leroy Hannah, Tommy Hannah, Mary Hannah, Frank Hannah, Helen Smith, Wilda Smith, David Hannah, Dean Hannah and Willie June Lamb.
Survived by her children, Charles M Garrison Jr. (Nancy) Waynesville, NC,; Roy Lee Garrison and Joan Emerson (Monte) of Rogersville, Tn.; A special daughter, Diana Fisher, of Asheville, NC.; Her grandchildren, Michelle Rogers (Steffen), Jessica Regel (Josh), Rachel Cooley (David), Sarah Soucie (Derrick), Mitchel Emerson (Sara), Jordan Emerson, and special granddaughter Amanda Fisher. Great grandchildren: Savannah Rhinehart (Seth), Isaac Rogers, Sterling Soucie, David Cooley, Michael Cooley, Jaxson Scruggs, Jacob Regal, Emma Emerson, Noah Emerson, Hannah Emerson, Destiney Whitney, and Zachary Emerson. One great great-grandson Beau Fisher.
Wanda loved the Lord and shared her faith with everyone. She loved to travel and was able to visit many places on the globe. But what she loved most was her home and family. She enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes. She opened her home to anyone who needed help. She will be missed so deeply by anyone who knows her.
