Sewell F. Johnson, Sr., age 94, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 11, 2017, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. He attended Manley Baptist Church and was an Army veteran who was in World War II and had a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years; Zanna Johnson, parents; Andrew and Eva Lee Johnson, sister; Beulah Mae Johnson and brother; John Johnson.
He is survived by his children; Sewell (Donna) Johnson, Jr., Michael (Barbara) Johnson, Roger (Dianne) Johnson, Ricky (Patty) Johnson, Janet (Richard) Love, and Tammy (Charles ) Wingo, brother; Andrew Johnson II, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-9:00 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2017, in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017, in Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Noe officiating. A military graveside will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens with Post #5266 providing military honors.
