Ruwey Dean Lawson

Ruwey Dean Lawson, age 80, of Bean Station, Tennessee went to his heavenly home and met his Savior face to face on April 10, 2023. Dean was born in Hancock County on November 8, 1942, grew up around Bean Station and Mooresburg, and married Geraldine Mills on July 20, 1963 in Morristown Tennessee. He was saved at an early age at Big Creek Baptist Church, and was an active member at Adriel Baptist Church in Bean Station, where he had faithfully served as deacon and song leader for nearly 40 years. Preceding him in death are his wife, Geraldine Lawson; mother and father, Pearl Coffey Lawson and Fate Lawson of Bean Station; brother, JW ‘Dub’ Lawson; and sister-in-law, Suzie Lawson of Bean Station, Tennessee, and brother-in-law, Bob McGinnis of Rogersville, Tennessee.

Survivors include his children and their families: daughter, Sherry Turley and son-in-law, Randy Turley of Rutledge, TN; three sons, Randy Lawson and daughter-in-law, Tama Lawson of Allen, Texas, Steve Lawson and daughter-in-law, Misty Lawson of Morristown, TN, and Stacey Lawson and daughter-in-law, Traci Lawson of Rutledge, TN; beloved grandchildren, Casey Lambdin and husband, Travis Lambdin of Jefferson City, TN, Philip Turley of Austin, Texas, Kaylee Lawson of Rutledge, TN, Ryan Lawson and fiancé, Tiffany Roberts of Rutledge, TN, Aryn Lawson and fiancé, Logan Bledsoe of Knoxville, TN, Caleb Lawson and wife, Ashleigh of League City, Texas, and Dylan Lawson of Allen, Texas, Jacob Lawson of Morristown, TN; great grandchild, Alex Lambdin; sisters, Annette McGinnis of Rogersville, TN, and Wilma Barnard of Morristown, TN; Brother-in-law, Jackie Barnard along with many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and special friend, Wilma Rhea of Mooresburg, TN.

A gathering of friends for Dean will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Following the gathering of friends will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
