Roger Short Sr.

REV. ROGER CLAY SHORT, SR, age 61 of Mooresburg, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home. He was President of the American Christian Church Council, , Pastor of Oakes Chapel American Christian Church and member of James Chapel American Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clay and Hannah (McGinnis) Short, grandson; Geoffrey Edward Short, brothers; Otis, Lester, Roy and Robert Short, sister-in-law; Patricia Ann Roach.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Wanda Faye Short, son; George Short, sons and daughters-in-law; Roger and Julie Short, Jr and Parnell and Renee Short, daughter and son-in-law; Carolyn and Johnny Dean, grandchildren; Amber, Brigitte, Tamara, Dylan, Nicholas and Geoffrey Short, Courtney and Brittany McGinnis, Jonathan Munsey and Pam Malone, one great granddaughter; Madilyn McCravey, sisters and brothers-in-law; Joy and J.L. Leonard, Brenda and Gale Carpenter, Gaye and James Greene and Betty Purkey, brothers and sisters-in-law; Jack and Barbara Short, Bill Short, Lee Roy Purkey and Sandra Brown, several nieces, nephews, special friend Joyce West, Gretchen Short, Casey Johns and Michael McGinnis and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2012 in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Seaton, Rev. Tommy Frye and the Rev. Mike Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown, Tennessee.
