Larry Wayne Short, age 81, of Morristown, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Serenity House. He served in the US Army and retired from Enka/BASF after 34 years. Larry was very proud of his sons and loved fishing. Preceding him in death was his wife, Billie Rhea Short; parents, BT and Susie Short; life-long friend and brother-in-law, Alfred Matt Matthews; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Tracy (Kyndal Harmon) Short and Keith (Kelly) Short; grandchildren, Traci Short, Danielle Short and Tyler Short; great-granddaughter, Izabella Hughes; sisters, Carol Matthews and Reetha Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Ross Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #5266.
