Charlotte Ann Carman, age 89, of Morristown, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. She graduated from Maury High School, where she was an all-star basketball player. Charlotte was retired from ENKA and was involved with the Kerbela Shriners Women’s Auxilliary. A big sports fan and avid gardener, winning numerous local awards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gilbert; parents, Bill and Hattie (Henley) Carman; and nephews, J.R. Byerley and Danny Carman, niece, Carolyn (Byerley) Strange.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Jane Ann (Bill) Hill; grandchildren, Nicholas Jarvis, Rikki Fry (also her caregiver), Emily (Javier) Gonzales, and Lindsey Cermola; six great-grandchildren; niece, Carol Byerley; and nephews, Harold Carman, Chuck Byerley and special friend Gwen Renner.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Pastor Danny Scott will officiate. Inurnment will be on Monday, October 9, 2023 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
