Robert Earl Powell

Mr. Robert Earl Powell, 89, of Morganton went home to be with his Lord on May 3, 2017. A native of Cleveland County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Ambros Lee and Doshie Mildred Beaver Powell. He was retired from Broughton Hospital after 38 years of service and later, retired from Food Lion. He loved working in his yard and garden. He was a longtime member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by a brother, T.B. Powell and a sister, Mildred Powell Cline. Surviving him is his beloved wife, Jean Powell; his daughter, Amy Beach and husband Jeffrey of Drexel, NC; a granddaughter, Brittany Beach; a nephew, Steve Cline and a niece, Ann Ellis.

The family will receive friends at Catawba Valley Baptist Church on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A service celebrating his life will be held at Catawba Valley Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 5, 2017. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
