Jack D. Hoppenstedt Sr., age 87, passed away in Sunshine, North Carolina in the comfort of his cabin home on Monday, November 4, 2024. He was born in St. Joseph Mo.
He served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He began his law enforcement career with the Orlando Police Department where he served for six years and retired in 2003 after 35 years with the Florida Highway Patrol.
He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 20 years, Peggy, his brothers, Orville (Virginia) of Independence, MO and Frances(Sharon) of Manhattan, KS, his four children, Sherry (Danny) Shrouf, Jack Hoppenstedt Jr. (Michele), Carmen Hunt, Charlene Hoppenstedt and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren. nephews, nieces and friends.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Florida at a later date. In honor of his service, you may make a donation to Tunnel to Towers at www.t2t.org in Jack's name.
