Dowl Kenneth Carswell

Mr. Dowl Kenneth Carswell, age 75, of Morganton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Grace Hospital. Born May 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Broadus Carswell and Ollie Arden Mace Carswell. In addition to his parents, Dowl was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin Carswell, John Carswell, Arnold Carswell and son in-law, Stanley Holcombe.

Dowl was a retired Brick Mason and previous co-owner of Carswell Pawn and Trade. He was also a member of Mulls Grove Baptist Church.

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 55 years, Edna Mae Brewer Carswell; one son, Dowl Kenneth Carswell, Jr. of Morganton; one daughter, Marlene Holcombe of Morganton; one brother, Clifford Carswell of Morganton; three grandchildren, Brandon Holcombe, Will Carswell, Callie Carswell and a number of nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday March 19, 2003 at Mulls Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Jernigan and Rev. Allan Barlow officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday March 18, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home.
