"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" ~ Romans 8:28
Alvin Robinson, Sr., was born on August 10, 1951, in Franklin, LA. He was the third child to the late Albert and Laura Henry Robinson. He departed this life on November 10, 2024 at his residence.
Alvin was well-known and also known to several as "Al Monday", "Wild Bill", "Shot Gun", and "Shorty". He was very skilled and was a crane operator by trade working within the oil field industry for many years. He was the family's mechanic. He loved to cook and fish. He often turned down hunting trips, because of his fear of snakes. Alvin never met a stranger and he was always willing to help when needed. He always joked around and gave others fitting nicknames as warranted. Just as later in life, he nicknamed himself, "Sam". Last, but not least, he was very stylish and prided himself on dressing very well with either a kangol or brim to match. He was a great dancer, too. Most importantly, he had a loving spirit and the memories that he created will last forever.
Alvin was married to the love of his life, Diana Long-Robinson for almost 50 years and from their marriage they had three children. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Alvin Robinson, Jr. of Morgan City, LA and Eris (Chanesha) Robinson, Sr. of Lafayette, LA, one daughter, "His Little Girl", as he affectionately called her, Ninette Robinson (George)Williams, III of Patterson, LA. His sisters, Geraldine Robinson (Herman) Phillips, Sr. of Houston, TX ; Rose Robinson Burden of Stafford, TX; Joann Robinson of Missouri City, TX, and Donna Robinson Young of Franklin, LA. His grandchildren, Nyla Grady, Alvin Robinson III, Kiora Grady, M'ahri Robinson, Cody Hall, Jalen Charles, Eris Robinson, Jr., Lauryn Robinson, Johnathan Hall, and Kingston Robinson. His great-grandchildren, Reign Favors, Leslie Favors, Jr., Oakley Charles, and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Long Robinson; his son, Cleophus Lewis Robinson; his parents, Albert Robinson and Laura Henry Robinson, and his nephew, Herman Phillips, Jr.
