God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.

His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain. 
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes, 
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide, 
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. 
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home. 

Nannie, I miss you so much! Im going to miss seeing you in New York, and having you come down to Jersey. I loved spending time with you because you were such a fun person to be around. You are the greatest grandmother anyone could ask for! I love you so much Nan!

I came across this poem that Aunt Mil wrote to Mom:

There are many sisters in this world

some smart, some kind, some true.

Yes, they're all somebody's sisters,

But none could take the place of you.

I remember the day you were born, Lil.

When the doctor brought you in his 

case, and I had a new baby sister, 

who outgrew her funny little girl face.

I remember the years we grew up in, 

the laughs, the songs and the tears.

I remember you, always happy Lil.

You were Pop's favorite for years.

I remember how we used to fight, Lil, 

when you sneaked out in my clothes.

And I remember Spring Street and 

Willy, bet you haven't forgotten those.

I remember all the good things that 

you still do for others,

And you would do most anything even 

for sisters and brothers.

And you are just like Mom, Lil, in so 

many ways its true,

And I feel she's a little bit closer 

whenever I think about you.

Mom, I hated to see you go, although I know it needed to happen. It's just so hard. I think of you often. When I go to New York, I feel lost. I know it is going to take time. I miss you Mom! You have a special place in my heart, it's where I hold your words and your smiles for when I need them most.  Love you Mom,

Nan Im going to miss you so much.I know you want me to remember the happy times and I will, but I wish I could of made you all better so you didnt have to go and you could still be here with us.You were a very strong beautiful woman and I hope Im just like you. Nan, your my bestie and always will be. I will remember you like I remember the days past. Somethings in life will be sweet and others sour. Nan was a courageous woman. She was a joker and caregiver. I will always remember the great times we've had with her. I love you Nan and will miss you!

I was inspired to write this about the love of Lillian, Lou and their "Special Angel". Although only a friend by acquaintance, I feel like I've known Lillian so well. I'm sorry for your loss. I know she'll be missed.

I will miss Lil.  I treasured our friendship and always looked forward to her coming to New Jersey for a visit.  I always admired Lil for the many strengths she exhibited throughout the time I had the pleasure of knowing her.  You all have my heartfelt condolences.

When I think of Mrs. Edge, I always smile.  She was a courageous lady that dealt with what life dealt her without ever being a bit bitter.  Instead, she was such a pleasant, gracious person who everyone admired.  I will miss her at the family functions she attended in New Jersey.  She sure was a class act whose absence will be felt forever.  I'm so sorry to all of you for this great loss.  You have our deepest condolences.

I am going to miss my best friend. It tore my heart out to see you go but I know I will see you again. A mother holds her child's hand for a short while but their heart forever. I love you, Mom!
