He was born on February 28, 1936 in Peekskill NY, to Clifton and Helen Miller (Lafountain).
In his early life, Jack was an accomplished athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball throughout his junior and high school years at Peekskill High School.
Upon graduation in 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as Sergeant third class. While in the Army, Jack played on the Army baseball team, traveling throughout Europe with the team. Upon his honorable discharge in 1956, he married his childhood sweetheart Barbara Miller and lived in Montrose, NY for over 60 years, before moving to The Club at Briarcliff Manor in 2021.
Jack was employed by IBM, retiring in 1993 after 36 years, attaining the prestigious President’s Award as a manager of chip production in East Fishkill, New York.
Jack loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed hosting large gatherings for every holiday. Jack was an animal lover and had 7 dogs and many cats over the years and all were treated like family members. Jack loved golfing, bowling, and traveling, especially to Sanibel Island, Florida where he vacationed for over 30 years. Above all, Jack adored spending time with his grandsons. He will be greatly missed in our lives.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Helen Miller.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Klinke) Miller of Briarcliff Manor, daughter Kimberly Miller of Montrose, son-in-law, Patrick Bronner, grandsons Matthew and Nicholas, his cousin Sharon Seirmarco and his aide Rossy Velasquez who took such wonderful care of him.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 24th from 3-8pm at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548. A funeral service is scheduled at the funeral home at 10:30am on Monday, March 25th. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 1055 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his honor to Mid-Hudson Animal Aid, 54 Simmons Lane, Beacon, NY 12508.
