He is survived by his loving sister, Barbara Tyshchenko; his three children Judith (John) Rotella, Mark (Bree) Van Dyke and Jill (Rolando) Achacoso; son-in-law William E. Carl served his community as a dedicated member of the Montrose Fire Department/Cortlandt Engine Company for 62 years in which he performed the duties of treasurer for 50 years as well as a lieutenant for the fire police in later years. He volunteered many hours at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Montrose, and enjoyed many years with his friends at the Verplanck Senior Citizens Club. In 2023 the club selected Carl for the Westchester County Senior Hall of Fame! He worked for the Schindler Elevator Corporation in New York City until he retired in 1997. As retirement proved to be too slow-paced for Carl he then worked in the Transportation Department of the Hendrick Hudson School District for 23 years.
Carl looked forward to his annual family summer vacations to the beaches of North Carolina where he enjoyed spending time with family, walking the beach searching for shells, feeding the birds, clamming for hours, and then spending time in the kitchen cooking for all he loved.
