18th, 2023 at the age of 88. After a difficult battle with cancer she died peacefully at Teresa
Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland, Quebec. She is predeceased by her loving
husband of 52 years, Brian Rogers who sadly passed just 6 months before her.
Julia is survived by her 3 children; Robert Santelli, Laura Desrosiers (George) , Mark
Santelli (Cristina) and her five grandchildren Tatiana, Erik, Katrina, Alexander, Kaitlyn and
Sloane, her great granddaughter, her two sisters Rita Certosini (Jim) and Bianca Salzani
(Alfredo), and sister-in-law, Etiennette D’Errico (Tommy), along with many nieces and
nephews.
Julia was born in Montreal on January 31st , 1935 to Amerigo and Carmela (Mansueto)
D’Errico. She was first married to Eddy Santelli in 1956, and divorced in 1968. In 1969 she
met Brian at a philosophy class where they discovered that their values and ideas were very
similar. In 1970 they began a relationship and a few years later, married. Julia was
determined to finish her degree and went back to university. She was also an avid antique
collector, enjoyed needlepoint, walking and also worked as a bookkeeper until retirement.
She was a wonderful cook and always interested in “natural” homemade meals. In 1979,
Julia opened one of the first organic restaurants in downtown Montreal called “La Bonne
Terre”.
Julia and Brian loved to ski, travel , enjoy the family and grandchildren, and spent many
winters in their Florida residences . They designed and built several homes in Baie d’Urfé,
Quebec, where they lived for 45 years. Julia was a devoted, loving, and caring wife,
mother, and grand-mother and loved to make her loved ones their favourite foods. Julia’s
passion for good food and hosting often extended to her large D’errico family and friends.
Besides her children and grandchildren , she leaves behind many cherished nephews and
nieces, as well as new and old friends.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Teresa Dellar Palliative Care for
the comfort and compassion they bestowed on our mother in her last weeks.
In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Teresa Dellar
