It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eleni Lavidas (Helen), born in Montreal on August 7th, 1974. She passed away peacefully after a valiant fight towards healing. Her final days were at the West Island Palliative Care Residence, surrounded by her loved ones. She went to be with the Lord on January 27th, 2019. She will be remembered for her strength and her love for her family and friends. She was a passionate giver.
She is deeply mourned by her husband Mike Meklenschek and their daughter Emily (11), her supportive parents, Christos and Teresa, brothers Michalis and Philipas (Oxana) as well as her father-in-law, Charles, mother-in-law, Norma, sisters-in-law Sandra (Peter), Angela (Marc) and brother-in-law Chuck, and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all family and friends, who will cherish Helen in their hearts forevermore.
The family will receive condolences at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home (5610 Sherbrooke West) on Thursday, January 31st, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will be held Friday 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Cruz Church (60 Rachel Street West) followed by burial at Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery (4601 Côte-des-Neiges Road).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to help with costs would be gratefully appreciated.
