Born in Montreal, Quebec on August 28, 1963, passed away suddenly in her fifty-ninth year. She will be sorely missed by her sister, Leslie (Erik Austin) her brother Corey and her mother Judith Barlow; niece Kirsten Austin and her many friends in Montreal , Ottawa and Toronto. She was predeceased by her father, Tom Piper and her aunt Olive Jane Reynolds (O.J)
Alison graduated from Ryerson University in Journalism and later received a Masters in Educational Technology from Concordia University in 2006. She worked at various companies which included The Canadian Engineering Association based in Toronto. Alison was well-regarded as an instructional designer and editor of educational materials and publications. “An Overview of Training and Development” by Driscoll and Carliner published in 2019. This was recognized as an accomplished piece of work. In more recent years, she started a small business called Piper’s Pages and had a variety of contracts which kept her busy using her creative skills to develop training manuals.
Alison was warm and outgoing; a very good communicator both in the written word and verbally when conversing with friends and family. She had a sharp wit and an infectious laugh that charmed her friends and family.
Alison enjoyed outdoor activities with her meet-up group which included hiking, cross-country skiing and other recreational activities. The opportunity to venture to new places was very uplifting for her. She loved the Arts which included a membership to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and seeing the latest movies in the theaters.
On October 6 , 2022 at 2 pm, a celebration of life followed by a reception will take place at Collins Clarke MacGillvray White Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke St. West, tel:514-483-1870
