WILLIAM (BILL) EWING HENRY, 92, OF MONTGOMERY ALABAMA, died Sunday, June 7, 2015. Bill was born to the late William and Gladys Henry, January 19th, 1923 in Gadsden, Alabama. He graduated from Lanier High School and later attended the University of Alabama and Troy University where he majored in engineering. He married the late Evelyn R Henry in 1950 and they resided in Montgomery Alabama. Bill was a decorated WWII Veteran who served in the US Army Air Force as a P51 Flight Leader, 529th Fighter Squadron from March 1944 - February 1946 flying 36 combat missions. He was a retired State of Alabama Senior Bridge Engineer who worked for more than 40 years designing bridges until he retired in 1980. He served as a Deacon at Morningview Baptist Church and was a teacher in the Bible Study Fellowship Program. He was also honored by the American Red Cross with their highest honor for the years of blood donations. Bill loved to serve his Country, his community and his family and will be missed by all those he touched. Bill is survived by two children: Leah Henry Randall, of Oneonta and Thad Henry, of Huntsville. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Stephanie, Clay, and Chris and two grandchildren who preceded him in death, Charlyn and Wes. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home in Montgomery, AL Pastor Shawn Merithew will preside over a short service starting at 10:45 AM in the Chapel. An interment service with military honors will follow at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery
