Virginia was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Virginia always enjoyed supporting the activities and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She faithfully served the Lord and was a member of Frazier United Methodist Church where she actively participated in Glenda Milling’s Bible Study group. Virginia was a quiet, humble lady who was loved by everyone she knew. She always was first to give an encouraging word or a whisper of hope. She had an optimistic view on life, and she knew God was in control. Virginia loved the outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family at the beach and hunting and fishing in Lowndes County, Alabama. Virginia will be remembered for her beautiful and inviting smile, her quiet and steady spirit, her contagious laugh and for the kind and patient love she showed to all she met.
Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Nelson Roy Gillespie Jr; her parents Alma and Sam Brigance; her brothers, Ken, and Hub Brigance; and her sister, Audrey Howard. She is survived by her beloved daughters; Brigitte Diann Reid (Glenn) and their children: Zach, Virginia, and Olivia; Ronda Gail Wilson and her children: Brittany and Christopher Paul; and Regina Carol McMillan and her children: Mays and Anna.
