She was preceded in death her husband, William Comer Meredith; a son, James Meredith and grandson, Jay Meredith.
Verla is survived by her children, John Meredith (Judy), Patsy Sanders (Brantley), Mary Green (Jerry), Brenda Barr (Allen); brother, Felix Reeves; sisters, Georgia Winfield, Lena Cousins; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from 1:00pm-2:00pm, at Leak Memory Chapel, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Meredith, Phillip Meredith, Michael Pippin, Tyler Pippin, Brian Pippin and Allan Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Sexton and Johnny Johnson.
