Robert William “Bob” Brink, Age 70, of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022 following a brief illness. Bob was a 1975 graduate of Auburn University and a lifetime member of the Auburn Alumni Association. He loved his family with a relentless devotion. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Debbie, especially when visiting “The Farm” in his hometown of Walton, New York. Bob also enjoyed spoiling his grandkids, gardening, visiting Civil War battlefields and cheering on his Auburn Tigers. Most importantly, he was always committed to serving others. Whether it was a family member, a neighbor, or a complete stranger, whenever someone needed help, Bob was there.
Bob is survived by his wife of 22 years, Debra Wise-Brink, sons Christopher Brink (Courtney), Shannon Smith (Lisa), Chad Smith (Beth), Jeremy Brink and Christopher Cordell. He is also survived by his mother Doris Jean Brink, his mother-in-law Pamela C. Wise, his sister Deborah Knowles (Tom), his brother David Brink (Suzanne) and his sister-in-law Patricia Wise Craik. Additionally, Bob is survived by grandchildren Skye Aislinn Brink-Moore (Jacob), Jonah Brooks Schade, Anna Samantha Brink, Haley Smith, Ethan Smith, Jackson Brink, Carter Brink, Cooper Brink, Sawyer Brink, Aiden Cordell, Alice Cordell and Audrey Cordell. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Aspen Grace Moore, Meredith Lynn Smith, niece Brittany Brink and nephew Brian Brink. He was preceded in death by his father, Lieutenant Colonel Hubert M. Brink (USAF, Retired), his father-in-law Senior Master Sergeant John F. Wise (USAF, Retired) and his brother-in-law Geoffrey Lee Craik.
Pallbearers for Bob’s service are Justin Cruise, Joe Strength, Andy Hardeman, Chad Bennington, Trey Dasinger and Aiden Cordell. Honorary pallbearers are Jackson Brink, Brandon Thornton and Jared Faust.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 16th from 5 pm to 7 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Montgomery. Funeral services will be held for Bob in the same Chapel on Thursday, November 17th at 2:30 pm with a short graveside service to immediately follow. Reverend Shannon Smith will officiate both services.
