Richard Leon Johnson

Richard Leon Johnson, age 87, of Hope Hull, Alabama passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Richard was born July 5, 1934 in Brewton, Alabama to Curtis F. Johnson and Aline Brown Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Smith Johnson; his son, Darrell Johnson; and his brother, Elton Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter, Donna Johnson Christopher (Wayne); his daughter in law Stephanie Johnson; his grandchildren Richard Dylan Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Jamie Burnett (Paul) and Jennifer Robinson (Justin); his great grandchildren Kaleigh Skipper, Madeline Skipper, Megyn Burnett, KaCee Burnett, Jarred Burnett, Jackson Robinson and Tyler Robinson; as well as his great, great granddaughter Kopelynn Burnett.

An extremely hard worker, Richard worked International Paper until retiring. He loved being outdoors but he loved his family (especially the "grands") even more.

A visitation for Mr. Johnson will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Gary Burton of Pintlala Baptist Church will be officiating.
