O.J. Maddox, age 81. passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at his home. Mr. Maddox is survived by his wife of 57 years, Voline Maddox; a son, Shane Maddox; three sisters, Betty Jean Shadden, Margaret Lewis, Patsy Edwards and one brother, Winfred Maddox. He was a member of Eastmont Baptist Church. Mr. Maddox retired after 37 years from CSX Railroad. He also served during World War II in the United States Army and Navy. Mr. Maddox was a member of Heart of Dixie Ramblers Camping Club. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Mike Northcutt officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be T.J. Manis, Ralph Jefferson, Mike Robinson, Phil Reid, Wiley D. Phillips and Charles Lewis. The family will receive friends at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, March 5 one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastmont Baptist Church Building Fund.
