Martha Pouncey Pridgen, also known to many as "Aunt Mot" went home to be with the Lord Jesus in heaven Friday, July 9, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents, W. R. Pouncey and Carrie Goree Pouncey, daughter, Mindy Leigh Pridgen; sister, Carrie Pouncey Elliott and father and mother–in-law, Woodrow and Bonnie Pridgen. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger (Ben) Darby; granddaughters Barrett Leigh and Emily Grace, James Pridgen, "Papa"; sisters, Wanda (Ed) Fain, Joyce (Robbie) Harris; sister-in-law, Entis (Donald) Till; brothers-in- law, Woodrow Pridgen, Wilbur Pridgen and Charles Elliott; nieces and nephews, Teri (Pat) Lavette, Mike (Tammy) Elliott, Lenora Neill, Lelani (Mitch) Waltman, Andrea (Ronnie) Freeland, Chris (Kristi) Fain, Lindsey (Sam) Singletary and Scott Fain; numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Martha used her God given gift of service well. She cared for friends and family in many ways. Her life was dedicated to bringing joy and comfort to others in times of need and celebration. She was a shining example of what love truly is and her memory will guide and lift her loved ones as she did in life. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Leak Memory Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Charles Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Martha's memory to the foundation of PSP "Progressive Supranuclear Palsy" Executive Plaza III, 11350 McCormick Road, Suite 906, Hunt Valley, MD. 21031.Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Darby, Sam Singletary, Chris Fain, Scott Fain, Ronnie Freeland and Donnie Till.
