Throughout her life, she carried a tiny cross for each of her family members in a tiny satin pouch, and was never without it. Over the years she hand-wrote thousands of prayers for her friends and family members, filling a special bushel basket to overflowing. Marjorie Bradford was born on March 29, 1922 in Albany, Georgia and raised in Uniontown, Alabama. She became a registered nurse to help with the war effort and worked at the VA Hospital in Montgomery, caring for wounded soldiers. She was “Aunt Margie” to scores of children, and a friend to all. Through her great love and faith in God, she has left a long and lasting imprint on the world. The family would like to thank those who faithfully cared for her during her last years, the staff of Oak Grove Inn, the staff of John Knox Manor Nursing home, and the kind sitters from Answered Prayer, especially Gail Cannon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Caring Days, P.O. Box 3049, Tuscaloosa, AL 35403 in memory of Marjorie Bradford.
