Marcia Dobbins Fagan, 81, passed away peacefully at home on Dec 31, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family. Marcia was born August 1,1937 in Selma, AL to David Wesley Dobbins and Elizabeth Casey Dobbins as a triplet with her sisters Allison Dobbins Hogan (Dan) and Leah Dobbins Pleasant (Joe). She was also blessed with an older brother, Lawrence Wesley Dobbins and her younger sister, Emily Dobbins Knight (Barry). Marcia was a 1955 graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, worked at Montgomery Fair for 17 years, and was a co-owner of Fagan Pool Service established in 1962.
Marcia was known and loved for her kindness to others. She genuinely loved people and brought so much love and joy to all. Time was always enjoyed and treasured with each encounter whether it be with people or animals. Marcia will surely be greeted at The Pearly Gates by a multitude of people she has loved so well and by the many animals she has loved so sweetly.
Marcia is survived by the love of her life, Richard L. Fagan. Married for 54 years, theirs is the truest and sweetest love story. They were inseparable and happiest together. Marcia is also survived by her son, Richard David Fagan, whom she was always so proud of for his service to our country in the US Army, with the family business, and as father to her beloved granddaughter Isabella Marie Fagan. Bella was Marcia's most treasured blessing and joy. Also survived by Marcia is Angela (English) Fagan, for whom Marcia loved and cared for tremendously. Marcia loved her family and surrounded herself with pictures of her and Richard, David, Angela, and Bella throughout her home.
Marcia and her family extend their deepest appreciation for the family, friends, and caregivers who have loved and cared for her so beautifully. Special appreciation to Kay Thomas, LaWanda Richardson, Answered Prayer, and Alacare for their loving care and companionship during Marcia's final days. The care they showed Marcia was a perfect example of how much she loved others.
Pallbearers for the graveside service will be Michael Hogan , Robert Hogan, Brian Griffith, Chris Obenhaus, Mitch Johnson and Eric Vawter.
A visitation is set for Friday, January 5 at 1:00 pm at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 pm in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will welcome and greet Marcia's family and friends at Arrowhead Country Club following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society.
