John Earl Moore

John Earl Moore, age 94, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. John Earl was born June 6, 1928 to Willie Herlong Moore and Ruby Boothe Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents but survived by his children, Mary, John and Mendy, Ruth and Dwight; his grandchildren, Brooks, David and Mackenzie, Dani and Colby, Derringer and Amy, Townsend and Kianna, Susan, Sharon and Alexis; and his sisters, Joyce and Nan.

Mr. Moore was a graduate of Montgomery Bible School, Huntingdon College and University of Alabama. He was appointed by the governor to work on the reorganization of the supreme court system during the 1970's. Later he worked as an auditor for the state of Alabama law enforcement planning agency.

John Earl was a veteran of the Korean war, serving as an Army medic with several different battalions. Spending his time outdoors by way of a motorcycle or in the garden, he loved life.

A faithful member of University Church of Christ, we give thanks that he is at rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord.

A family and friends visitation for John Earl will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the family and friends visitation will be a graveside service at 12:00 PM at Fair Prospect Cemetery, Naftel Rd., Naftel, Alabama.
