Joe "David" Long

LONG, Joe “David”, 68, of Montgomery, AL, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. David was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was an avid golfer and loved the beach. David retired from Alabama Power Company and from the State of Alabama Department of Public Health. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Long Byrd and by his father, Homer Long. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pauline Long; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Todd Vaughn; two granddaughters, Taylor and Tinsley Vaughn; two brothers, Thomas Long (Cheryl), Gene Long (Shirley); sister, Nancy Green (Rita Gray); special brother-in-law, Terry Hutto; step father, James Byrd; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jamie Hutto, Jonathon Fullerton, Jeff Long, Justin Eaton, Brady Vaughn and Knox Vaughn

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rhon Carleton officiating. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
