Joan Yvonne Gibson

Joan Yvonne Healy Gibson, 88, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023. She was born on July 25, 1935 in New Haven, IL to the late Raymond F Healy and Ada Belle McCreary. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman E. (Hoot) Gibson.

She is survived by her children Pamela Miller (Ray), Steven Gibson (Sherry Clark), Penny Graves (John), and Kristi Gibson; grandchildren Amber Holley (Jamie), Kevin Miller (Britney), Ryan Graves (Abbie), Michael Miller (Andrea), Shannon Millen (Burdette) and Norman Gibson (Katy). Great grandchildren, Peyton Miller, Parker Miller, Cade Miller, Callie Miller, Lake Holley, Aslynn Miller, Addison Miller, Alexa Miller, Jensyn Graves, Holden Millen, Jonas Graves, Azia Miller, Jordan Graves, Sammy Gibson, Ruby Gibson and Benjamin Gibson; Great great granddaughter, Emma Grace Miller; nieces, Zolene Sue Raguse and Beth Ann Garza.

She was a member of Frazer Methodist Church where she volunteered at the Clothes Closet for many years, as well as a Salvation Army volunteer. She was very instrumental in the Therapeutic Recreation Center and played a vital part of the Blue Marlins Special Olympic, TRC Swim Team., TRC JAG Girls and the TRC Drama Group.

A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Graveside will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy. 119, Montevallo, AL.
