James “Jim” Duane Lommen, age 76, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away April 14, 2018. He was born on July 10, 1941 in Nelson, MN. Funeral services will be at Leak Memory Chapel, Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 PM with visitation at 5-7pm prior to the service. Burial will be on Friday, April 20, at 1:15 PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Al. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Dulce Lommen, brother, Guy Lommen. He is survived by his three daughters, Cynthia Suarez (Alexander) Lesinger, Lisa Suarez McVay, Jamie Lommen (Neil) Moreau of Montgomery, and one son, Dr. David (Leslie) Suarez of Athens, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Cory (Jessica) Lesinger, Kyle (Landon) Lesinger, Samuel (Takia) Suarez, Parker Drummond, Katharine Suarez, Thomas Suarez, Cassie McVay, Austin Moreau, and Paxton Moreau; two great grandchildren; sister in-law Susan Lommen. Jim grew up near Alexandria, MN. He married Barbara and they have resided in Montgomery since 1973.
Jim joined the Air Force and worked as a computer programmer and then after over 20 years of service retired as a Master Sargent. He obtained a degree in Computer Science at Troy State University Montgomery and continued to work in Montgomery retiring in 2013. He was a lifelong bowler and was a leader in the state and local bowling leagues in many capacities and was elected into the Alabama Bowling Hall of Fame in 2003.
