James Larry Hughes, 85, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024.
James worked as district manager of the Montgomery Advertiser for several years before his retirement. He attended Chisolm Baptist Church and enjoyed softball and fishing in his free time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Jewel Hughes; his brothers, Maurice Franklin (Dinkey) Hughes and Charles Allen (Buddy) Hughes; and his wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Hughes.
He is survived by his children, Mike Hughes, Bubba Hughes, and Laurie Ann Turner.
Donations may be made in James’ memory to the Montgomery Boys Club.
A graveside committal service for James will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109.
