Jack Hardy Grosser

Jack Hardy Grosser, passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2018 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife Billie Webb Grosser; two children: Cathy McBride, her husband Vernon, Beth Poundstone, her husband, Haygood; three grandchildren Jack Poundstone, his wife Abigail, Elizabeth Poundstone and Libby McBride. He was preceded in death by his parents Isadore and Mary Grosser and his sister Jane Fitzgerald all from Fayetteville, TN.

Jack was born in Fayetteville, TN on December 9, 1927 and attended Lincoln County High School. He married Billie following his graduation from Tennessee Tech in 1952 and remained married to her for 65 years until his death. Jack began a career with the US Army as a Procurement Director from 1957 – 1960. He transferred to NASA in 1960 working as a Procurement Analyst and remained there until 1974. After completing his career at NASA, he returned back to the US Army in Missile Command where he served as a Contract Specialist/Contract Officer until he retired in 1993. Jack was a member of the Huntsville Golden “K” Kiwanis Club where he chaired various committees during his membership and served as President from 2010 – 2011. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church located in Huntsville, Alabama. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Montgomery, Alabama on Wednesday, August 15th at 11:00 am with Mac Buttram of Trinity United Methodist Church, Huntsville, AL officiating.
