Herbert Nelson Christian

Herbert Nelson Christian, precious husband, loving father and brother, sweetest relative, dearest friend, and a great coach to many kids, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at age 78. He was a long time member of Chisolm Baptist Church and more recently a member of East Memorial Baptist Church. He was owner and president of Christian Testing Labs for a number of years, and he was owner of Christian, Carmichael, Inc. for 10 years. He was a State, District, and National Director for Dixie Youth Baseball, retiring after 54 years. He set a fine example to love and live for the Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Rebecca Christian; his beloved wife of 45 years, Jeanette “GeeGee”; and his brother, Ken. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 12 years, Diane; two sons, Jon (Nikki) and Bruce (Kayla); two daughters, Becky (Trent) and Robin (Joe); two stepdaughters, Pam and Lori (Scott); ten grandchildren, Evan (Abby), Ashley (Timothy), Zane (Savannah), Hunter, Christian, Payton, Mason, Savannah, Robin, and Emma; five great grandchildren, Chesleigh, Ansley, Briar, Adaline, Ellis; as well as two brothers, Herchel (Beth) and Bruce (Joan).

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 9:00am at Leak Memory Chapel with a service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Evan Christian, Zane Christian, Hunter Christian, Timothy Bouchard, Trent Ross, and Mason Christian. Pandemic protocol will be followed; masks and social distancing will be required.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Memorial Baptist Church.
