Henry Edsel Ford

He was married to 3 wonderful women, had 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren who all knew him as Paw.

Paw began his life of service during WWII as a Merchant Marine and later in the Army as a cook.

After the war he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Religion in June of 1950.

Upon completing his education, he served as a preacher for over 40 years, spending much of the time at Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Montgomery.

In addition to preaching, he also taught Elementary and High School youth in North Alabama and he served as the Director of Foreign Student Affairs at Alabama State University.

His dedication to the people he served impacted many. His life’s work was a testament to his dedication to his faith and the people he touched.

We will remember Paw as the creative painter, poet, golfer, and above all as the avid Auburn Fan he was.

He was funny and warm hearted, always bringing a smile and a laugh to everyone’s soul that he met.

No one was a stranger. He cherished being surrounded by his large family and beating them in a good card game.

His loveable self will be greatly missed.

Graveside for Henry will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
