CRONIER, Fred Woodfin 91, a longtime resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died peacefully at his daughter's home in Pensacola, Florida, on October 9, 2020, after a long illness. Fred is survived by his daughter, Tonya Lynn Cronier-Duda and her husband Gregory A. Duda; his grandsons Michael T. Parker and his wife Jodie Parker, and Jeff A. Saliba and his wife, Christina Saliba. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Brigham and Erika Parker, Jarrod and Samantha Parker, and Kaylee Parker, along with one great-great-grandson Oliver David Parker. Fred was preceded in death by wife, Gladys Ruth (Davis) Cronier, his daughter, Barbara Ann Parker, his brothers William Albert J Cronier and John Marshall Cronier, two sisters, Myrtle Christian and Francis Stringer, and his parents, Albert Denning Cronier and Sarah Blackwell. Fred retired after 30 years from the Alabama Army National Guard as a federal employee and retired with honors from the Army National Guard Reserves. He was also an independent contractor in the area of remodeling homes. Fred was a talented musician. Before joining the Army National Guard, he played the string neck guitar with a band in local nightspots in the Montgomery area. He was previously a member of the Rigby Baptist Church. Fred was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and a thoughtful giving man. He will be missed! Memorial contributions can be made to Montgomery Humane Society.
On Friday, October 16, 2020, at 2:00 pm, a Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2020, from 12:30-1:30 pm. Graveside service and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery this same day at 2:00 pm.
