Frances Marcile Forrester

Marci graduated from Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama. She then went on to obtain her Diploma of Nursing in 1963 from Saint Margaret’s Nursing School in Montgomery and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977 from the University of Hawaii.

Marci served the country in the United States Army Nurse Corps from 1977 to 1999 before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She was an avid choir member and a LIFE team leader. She was also a licensed dog show judge with the American Kennel Club and judged shows all around the world. She served the Dachshund Club of America as a former senior officer and board member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Raymond Helton, Jr. and Frances Colleen Machen Helton; her brother, Ernest Raymond Helton, III; her husband of 50 years, James A. Forrester; and her granddaughter, Faith Forrester.

She is survived by her children, Amy Lynn Skidmore and her husband Greg, Kevin Scott Forrester and his wife Myra, and James Patrick Forrester and his wife Becky; her grandchildren, Caitlin Vidalier, Devon Mouton, Christian Skidmore, Timothy Forrester, Michelle Forrester, Drew Forrester and his wife Christina, Matthew Forrester, and Megan Forrester; and her great-grandchildren, Karma, Carson, Kinley, and Declan.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Frances H. Forrester.

A visitation for Marci will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A chapel service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Leak Memory Chapel at 10:00 AM.
