Felix J. Harris was born April 27, 1925 in Chilton County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor, “Tip”, and sons Stephen Phillip and Tony Malcolm. Felix served honorably in WWII as a scout and expert marksman for Company I, 60th Infantry, United States Army. He was a faithful member and deacon of Wares Ferry Road Baptist Church. He is survived by brothers, Erastus Hardy Harris, and Shelton Thomas Harris, sons Felix Lynn (Beth) and Jerry Neil (Cornelia), daughters Fran Marie Wilson ( Jim) and Tina Melinda McDowell (Otto) ; grandchildren Wayne Knight, Justin Harris, Joshua Harris (Nancy), Meribeth Oglesby (Michael), T J McDowell, Micah Wilson, April McDowell, Leo Almond (Laura), and Christy Davis (Frank); great-grandchildren Hunter, Katie, Cody, Jayda, Rachel, Heather, Olivia, Tate, Chason and Trent; a host of nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Frances Miller. Pallbearers will be Wayne Knight, Justin Harris, Joshua Harris, T J McDowell, Micah Wilson and Michael Oglesby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Services will be officiated by Pastor Lenny Bolton, assisted by Pastor Burton Herring. Visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 10am to 11am, followed by the funeral service beginning at 11am. Interment will be at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens. White Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
