Emily Johnson Segers

She was a lifetime resident of Montgomery and received a degree from Huntingdon College. She earned a Master’s Degree in Supervision and Management from Troy University of Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R. E and Martha Atwater Johnson. Emily is survived by her husband Wyatt Lee Segers Jr. (Bill) and son Wyatt Lee Segers III.

Emily was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Education Sororities. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She retired after 30 years in the education field. She began teaching in Prattville and then continued teaching in Montgomery. She retired as principal of Davis Elementary School.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Montgomery Humane Shelter or a favorite charity in her honor.

A visitation and reception will held at Leak Memory Chapel on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a chapel service immediately following. A graveside service will follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery with Warren Culver officiating.
