Donald Ray Hatley, 77 a longtime resident of Montgomery, AL died of a heart attack while battling lung cancer on March 4th, 2018. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Hatley of Concord, NC and his son David Bradley Hatley of Montgomery, AL. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Sue Hatley and his daughter, Jodi Rae Hatley. He was known as “Paw Paw” by his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Kelsey Jordan Godfrey. Other survivors include a cousin in Clermont, FL, Kenneth Hatley (Donna), niece LouAnne Suther (Kenny) of Concord, NC; nephews Gene Lefler and Allen Stowe; great niece Lindsey Walters (Wilson) and sister-in-law, JoAnn Stowe (Butch), all of Concord, NC.
Don was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Alabama Heritage. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
