Byron is preceded in death by his parents, Alto and Ida Prescott; brothers, Austin (Janett), Edgar (Margie), and Edward (Ann) Prescott.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Boan Prescott and his son, Byron Douglas "Pete" Prescott, Jr. (Beverly) and children, Janene Thomas (David) and T. J. Lewis (Victor); his sister, Joyce Prescott; and a host of extended family.
Byron worked for the State of Alabama for 32 years and retired as Director of Public Safety. He was a 58 year member of Troy Masonic Lodge No. 56, Troy, Alabama.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Byron’s Life will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with burial at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Troy Masonic Lodge or the charity of your choice.
