Billy Wayne Henderson

Billy Wayne Henderson, 80, a resident of Montgomery, Al, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Catoma Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Reverend Mike Golson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Henderson was a retired captain with the Alabama State Troopers and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Alabama Air National Guard. He was also the head of Planning and Research for the Department of Public Safety writing many of the laws we have in place today. He was a graduate of Troy University and an avid Auburn fan. He had a love for all things that related to the Military and Law Enforcement.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lennie Sue Henderson, children Diana Henderson, Sheree Poe and Darrin Henderson, granddaughter Ava Henderson and sisters Hazel Stewart and Mabel Caraway and husband Bruce.
