Betty Rose Walters, 89, a resident of Verbena, AL, passed away December 1, 2022. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Reverends Wes and Meghan Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Homer and Lessie Lee Colburn Cook and siblings Magdalene Dockery, James Cook and Nell Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years William C. Walters, children Donna Brown, Melissa (James) Selmon and W. Carl (Susan) Walters II, grandchildren Duaine (Pam) Reynolds, Valerie (Josh) Cuevas, Bryan (Tracy) Selmon, Will Selmon, Brittany (Levi) Collins, Heather (Phillip) Finley, Lindsay Walters and Patrick Walters (Lizzy Shoner), great grandchildren Trent, Dala, Olivia, Emmitt, Madelyn, Connor, Ashlynn, Kinsley, Maverick, Kolten, Kinsley, Khloe, Ben and Cady a brother-in-law Lee (Wally) Walters. Mrs. Walters was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She had a great sense of humor but could be rather sassy at times. She was an amazing cook that rarely measured anything. She welcomed everyone to her beautiful home on Lake Mitchell and treated everyone like family even if you weren't. She lived everyday with joy, expectation and purpose.
