Betty Jean Daniel Milner, “Mama Bet”, 90, passed away surrounded by family and went to be with Roger, Saturday afternoon 5:30, November 12, 2022. Betty was born October 6, 1932 in Riverview, AL. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years Bob Roger Milner (1927-2008), loving son Richard Lee Milner (1952-2022), parents Arthur Lee and Irrissie Paschal Daniel, sisters Hettie Mae White and Dolly Humphrey, brother Arnold Lee Daniel (1926-1930).
She leaves behind to cherish her memory sons John (Debbie) Milner, Jerry (Nancy) Milner Scott (Melissa) Milner, and daughter-in-law Teri Milner; grandchildren Nick (Tammy) Milner., Miranda (Gui) Rampon, Amanda Milner, Ashley ( Corbin) Bartgis, Jane Ramsey, Susan Seeber (Troy), Chelsey (Brandon) Kreger, Regina Milner and Savannah Milner; great grandchildren Megan (Justin) Nettles, Kyle Milner, Chloe Bartgis, Mattie Moulton, Emma Claire Moulton, Stone Bartgis, Tate Bartgis, David (Marley) Hudson, Chad (Katie) Hudson, Ricky (Sarah) Seeber, Emily (Diego) McMinn, Lyndon Kreger, and Roger Kreger; two great great grandchildren, Raegan Nettles and Rhett Nettles.
Visiting with family and friends was Betty’s favorite pastime. There was never an inconvenient time to visit as the welcome mat was always out and the door always open. The more the merrier. Sunday dinners and many weeknights were a constant over the years with Roger and Mama Bet preparing a feast for the brood. There was always room for one more.
Betty was a stay-at-home mom, raising her four sons. She helped raise her grandson Nick, her” fifth son,” until his father remarried a wonderful woman, Teri. When Betty started having daughters-in-law and grandchildren she became known to all as “Mama Bet.” After raising her family Mama Bet became the receptionist and voice of American Packaging for nineteen years, a career she loved as much as the many friends she cherished there.
Mama Bet loved flowers, so flowers are very welcome at her service. Family and friends visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Thursday November 17, 2022 from 11am to 1:00 PM. A celebration of life chapel service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Brandon, Gui, Troy, Diego, Kyle and Corbin.
