Sherry Ann Seagle Pittman, age 76, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away at home with her family by her side on May 17, 2020 after battling poor health for several years. She was born in Piper, Alabama to John William Seagle and Kathleen Allen Seagle and was a graduate of West Blocton High School. She began working as a switchboard operator in Birmingham, and later retired from AmSouth Bank. Sherry was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church where she especially loved her Bible study group. She loved to watch old Westerns and Alabama football. More than anything, she adored her children, grandchild and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; closest aunt, Charlene Allen Henry; brother, Kenneth Allen Seagle; and her dog, Samson. She is survived by her children, Kyle Sewell and Kelli Sewell Brasher; granddaughter, Brittany Sewell Jones (Dustin); great-grandchildren, Mason, Mia, Madelyn and Miller Jones; closest uncle, Harold Henry; nephew, John Wesley Seagle (Leslie); great-niece, Silver Seagle; and cousin, Donia Dismukes.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of New Beacon Hospice for their kind and loving assistance.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Montevallo City Cemetery. Pastor Chris DeGreen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be directed to the Shelby County Humane Society.
