Joe Lester Williams

Joe Lester Williams, age 91, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Joe was born October 17, 1930 to Uyles Lester Williams and Iva Ruth Williams (nee Cassels) in Siluria, Alabama.

Joe was the owner of a Southeastern X-Ray Corporation from its founding in 1972 until 1997 when he moved to Fairhope for retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope.

His favorite pastimes were playing golf with friends, reading mystery novels, and spending time with his family, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Joe is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Florence Beatrice Williams (nee Oden). Joe is survived by a sister, Barbara Ann Logan (nee Williams), and a brother, Jackie Ray Williams; three children, Orion Lester Williams (Patricia Jenks) of Alabaster, Alabama, Carlton Ray Williams (Sherry Bean) of Alabaster, Alabama, Amy Denise (Michael) Shinnick of Daphne, Alabama; five grandchildren, Kevin Williams of Alabaster, Alabama, Steven Williams of Chelsea, Alabama, Christopher Williams of Homewood, Alabama, Matthew Williams of Calera, Alabama, Kelsey Shinnick Goddard of Lawrence, Kansas; and three great grandchildren, Lydia Williams, Sam Williams, and Oliver Williams.

His memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). Following the service, his ashes will be laid to rest at Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster, Alabama beside his wife, Florence Bea Williams.
