Elizabeth Ruth (Evans) Gilliland passed away peacefully this past June in Alabaster, Alabama. She was born December 28, 1947, in a small town in Arkansas to Willard and Catherine. Later her family relocated to Birmingham, Alabama where she lived a life marked by her unwavering commitment to her beliefs and to her family. Elizabeth was a thoughtful, spiritual soul who faced life’s challenges with a sense of purpose and resilience. She grew to be a devout woman of faith, who served others as a nursing school teacher for many years. She attended First Church of the Nazarene in Vestavia Hills where she enjoyed attending Sunday School, all services, and the community they provided.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Robert Gilliland, who preceded her in death. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Lisa and her husband (Sam Capra); her cherished grandchildren, Alaina, Joseph, and Gianna; as well as her two beloved great granddaughters, Layla Rose and Harper Wren. Her legacy will remain woven into our hearts and lives forever.
She will be deeply missed, and we find comfort in knowing that she has found peace. May her soul rest alongside her loved ones in eternal grace.
