Maurice Kent, age 85, passed away quietly and peacefully in his home. He was survived by his sister Jean and brother Richard.
He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, along with his 4 brothers and a sister. He worked at a local grocery store at the age of 15 and moved up to joining King Supers and later received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. He moved to California in 1964, getting a job with Southern California Edison, where he worked for 37 years, achieving his final position of Vice President of Power Production. He was a very private person on the outside and gooey on the inside. He referred to himself as being a curmudgeon. He loved Halloween so he could dress up as Mr. Rogers and answer the door with a friendly smile. He was a long-time member of the Episcopal Church in his neighborhood. He was a volunteer within the programs held at the Church facilities.
