John Tymkowych Jr., age 93, of Arcadia, California passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. John was born July 10, 1927 in East Saint Louis, Illinois. He was the son of Ukrainian immigrants, John and Mary Tymkowych.
In WWII he joined the Army Airforce at 18, where he worked at Mather Field in Sacramento CA on fighter jets. Upon the end of the war he enrolled in the University of Colorado in Boulder. He graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
John started his career as a Sales Representative with Upjohn Pharmaceuticals after college and worked in the Denver and the Albuquerque Districts until a transfer took him to Arcadia, CA in 1966. He enjoyed 36 years with Upjohn winning several Annual Sales awards and 2 Academy recognition for top sales rep in the US. A few years after retiring from Upjohn he started his own national Pharmaceutical Sales force called NOTHRUS which employed retired Salespeople to sell to doctors and pharmacists.
On Aug 10, 1956 he married Kitten, the Love of his life whom he cherished and shared a life of compassion, fun and 42 years of bliss and happiness. Kitten passed away in 1998 and has waited 22 years for her love to return to her arms. Not another love story could surpass their love and respect they shared.
His interests were skiing, fishing, camping, traveling the world and folk dancing. He enjoyed Tues night Bridge club, and playing tennis with his close buddies every week for years.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Rowley, son-in-law Doug Rowley, stepdaughter Patsy Gorczyca and Bob, her husband, 4 grandchildren, Pamela Lehmann, Brad Gorczyca, Jake Rowley, and Dean Rowley and 3 great grandchildren, Chad Lehmann, Christin Lehmann and Bohdan Rowley
A visitation for John will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Turner & Stevens Live Oak Mortuary, 200 E Duarte Road, Monrovia, CA 91016, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
